Our sustainability strategy.

Sustainability at CHH is about accountability and long term value. As our business has evolved, we have taken clear steps to understand our impacts, manage them responsibly and ensure environmental and governance considerations inform how we operate.

CHH’s sustainability strategy sets out our ambition and tracks our progress as an ethical and sustainable business. Read our 2025 Sustainability Report to find out more about how this strategy is being delivered. It includes emissions data, a materiality assessment and priority areas within our action plan with a clear road map charting our journey. It also explains how our Lifecycle Solutions model supports circularity and long term value creation.

Establishing a baseline to build from.

We have established a verified greenhouse gas emissions baseline across Scopes 1, 2 and 3, providing a clear understanding of where emissions arise across our operations and supply chain. This 2024 baseline enables us to move beyond assumptions and focus on measurable impact.

Measuring emissions provides the foundation for informed decision making. It allows us to prioritise action where it will have the greatest effect, strengthen risk management and demonstrate transparency to customers and stakeholders.

Our Sustainability Report sets out this data in detail and explains how it informs our action plan and reduction targets.

Keeping resources in the value chain.

Through our Lifecycle Solutions capability, we provide repair, maintenance, retrofit, reverse logistics, returns management and digital asset tracking within a structured framework. Assets removed from site can be logged, assessed and returned to the value chain wherever appropriate.

By extending asset life and improving recovery processes, we reduce unnecessary replacement and limit material waste – great news for the planet and your budget.

Circularity is delivered through disciplined lifecycle oversight rather than isolated initiatives. It’s a sustainable, bigger picture approach that saves money and resources.

Establishing governance and accountability.

Our Sustainability Working Group turns strategy into operational delivery. The team brings together CHH people from operations, procurement, SHEQ and senior leadership to build sustainable thinking into day-to-day decision making across the business.

Together, they’re making our action plan happen: monitoring progress against emissions, waste and efficiency targets; and strengthening supplier engagement and data accuracy.

By sharing responsibility across the organization, we make sure sustainability is integrated into planning, investment and operational management.

Embedding sustainability principles and culture.

Our sustainability journey is underpinned by clear principles: accountability, integrity, collaboration, technical excellence and long-term thinking. These tenets shape how we work with customers, suppliers and each other, and form the standards we set across the business.

Day-to-day, we’re working hard to build a culture where sustainability shows up in our everyday decisions. Practically, that looks like investing in training and capability development, strengthening environmental awareness, and recognising when our people demonstrate leadership in responsible practice.

By reinforcing accountability and encouraging continuous improvement, we’re making sure sustainability is embedded in how we operate – for CHH it’s so much more than a standalone initiative.

Social impact.

A people-focused culture delivers real social value. Many of our team have been with us for decades, some since CHH was founded, and that exceptional retention reflects an environment where colleagues feel genuinely valued and supported to grow.

We invest in professional development, including internationally recognised qualifications, and are launching a new reward and recognition programme to celebrate those who embody our values in their day-to-day work.

Beyond our own doors, CHH colleagues regularly fundraise for local causes including St Basils, Birmingham Hospice and Sandwell Parents for Disabled Children, and we are a member of the Birmingham and Black Country Wildlife Trust, supporting nature recovery across our region.

Powering responsible growth.

We believe that responsible growth means putting sustainability at the heart of business strategy – and we’re doing it for our customers too.

At CHH responsible growth means measuring emissions, strengthening governance and embedding life cycle management into our operations. This helps us create a business model that connects environmental responsibility with commercial performance. This structured approach reduces risk, improves transparency and strengthens control across the value chain.

Meanwhile – as expectations around ESG performance and supply chain accountability continue to increase – clever life cycle oversight provides a clear advantage. By extending asset life, improving recovery processes and maintaining data visibility, we give you the tools, insight and support to make more sustainable choices.
