CHH launches final mile solution to support field engineers

At CHH we pride ourselves in providing our customers with an end-to-end service offer. As part of our commitment to continuous improvement we have responded to demand for a best-in-class final mile distribution and reverse logistics solution, designed to improve inventory management, drive efficiencies and reduce costs.

 

We can now bring consumables and assets directly to your field engineers via a national network of CHH managed pick-up and drop-off (PUDO) locations designed with the customer in mind, ranging from lockers to entire rooms that are secured using a range of locking technologies. Our breakthrough solution also provides end-to-end tracking of serialised assets from warehouse to the point of installation, and the same in reverse, through a bespoke mobile app designed to cut-down on asset losses.

We are always adapting our services to meet changing demands. By listening to our customers, we identified a gap in the market for a final mile solution that responds to their unique needs. Our response offers a flexible, adaptable and scalable solution that builds on our Managed Services capabilities to provide field engineers timely access to everything they need for a successful installation, be it for smart meter, EV, solar or any other application.

 

Our service includes reverse logistics which leverages our asset tracking system to ensure assets are safely taken out of the field and returned to their owner, disposed of, or repaired for redeployment in an appropriate manner. Our breakthrough solution is achieving industry leading loss rates which significantly reduces our customer’s charges from asset owners.

CHH’s Managed Services solution has grown considerably over the last couple of years. Our experienced team supports many customers with its rapid response service. Each month it supplies hundreds of thousands of parts to thousands of field engineers, with an impressive OTIF (On Time In Full) of over 99.5%. Be it tools, consumables, uniform or PPE, we allow professionals to use our best-in-class ordering portal to obtain everything required to meet their day-to-day requirements.

 

Since its inception, our final mile solution has rapidly grown to a national network of hundreds of PUDOs fed by our nationwide warehousing network and serviced by our fleet of in-house drivers ensuring full visibility, accountability and control. Having already created dozens of new jobs at CHH, our ambitious plans for this new capability will add significant growth to our business whilst creating many more employment opportunities in the local area and across the UK.
