A day in the life – Paul Turner, Chief Executive Officer

At CHH, our success stems from strong leadership and a shared commitment to excellence. Every member of our team plays a part in shaping our future, from the people on the ground to those driving our strategic vision.

In this edition of our Day in the Life series, we speak to Paul Turner, Chief Executive Officer at CHH. Paul’s focus is on leading growth through strategy, talent and new business development, ensuring that the company remains agile and well positioned for the future.

Paul brings passion, commercial insight and a personal approach to leadership. We spent some time with him to find out what motivates him, what he enjoys most about his role, and what a typical Sunday looks like away from the office.

How would you describe your role in the business?

My role is to formulate our strategy over the next 3 – 5 years, identify growth opportunities and ensure the organisation is best equipped to deliver. Essentially, I am tasked with securing controlled profitable growth through the three key pillars of strategy, talent and new business development.

What made you decide to buy CHH?

In CHH I saw an unpolished diamond. I was a director in the business over 20 years ago and understood its potential. It was in a strong position with a great team but needed the right commercial acumen to take it forward. Cory and I brought that missing ingredient. It felt like the glove fitted the hand and that has been borne out by the growth trajectory we’ve been on ever since.

What has been your greatest achievement since taking over CHH?

Not losing any key members of the team since taking over the business. We really value our people and have been able to take them on the journey with us. Fortunately, there were great foundations already in place and our priority was to integrate our experience and skill sets and build on that existing culture.

What are you most looking forward to for the rest of 2025?

There is so much to be excited about. I am really looking forward to embedding our new organisational structure and officially launching CHH’s final mile solution which will really enhance our end-to-end offer.

What is something people may not know about you?

I don’t have a computer!  I’m “old school” and would prefer to speak to someone in person or call them on the phone as opposed to text or email.  I enjoy building relationships with my colleagues, customers and all other stakeholders by interacting with them personally rather than through any type of media.

Describe your perfect Sunday.

Getting up for a round of golf before coming home for a family dinner cooked by my wife. Then I’ll settle down to watch winning performances by Man City and the Detroit Lions. That’s what I call a perfect day.
