CHH has always been committed to giving staff the training and skills they need to fulfil their potential. Following completion of her Level 4 Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply. (CIPS), Jess Scott has been promoted to Supply Chain Manager. Effective supply chain management will be key to supporting CHH in its next stage of growth and Jess will be instrumental in helping us meet our goals.
Jess first worked for CHH seven years ago when she was a student at Aston University. Her part time admin job gave her insight into the business, its operations and culture. On completion of her Psychology Degree, she went on to provide administrative support to a range of business operations before taking on the role of Buyer in 2021.
Jess’s progression through the business has been driven by her thirst for learning and determination to keep building on her skillset. After completing a foundation CIPS qualification, she embarked on her Level 4 course to support the growth of CHH’s Design, Engineering & Manufacturing division.
The knowledge and skills Jess has developed on the course have now seen her promoted to CHH’s Supply Chain Manager. She will lead a team that provides purchasing support to the entire business as it navigates the next stage in its growth journey.
“I gained so much from the qualification”, says Jess. “It really helped educate me in areas like contract management, developing long term collaborative relationships with suppliers and how to work together to resolve issues quickly and effectively. That knowledge gives me confidence in my new role to further develop our supply chain management practices and provide procurement support across the business.”
Jess is already putting theory into practice as she reviews supplier agreements, maximises cost saving opportunities and focuses on sustainable sourcing.
Liz Scott, Managing Director of CHH’s Design, Engineering & Manufacturing division, comments: “We are delighted with the progress Jess has made and look forward to seeing how her team helps CHH exploit the opportunities ahead. We will need robust supply chains as our business evolves and we continue to develop our smart connectivity solutions.”
Jess will move on to taking a CIPS Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply. The post-graduate qualification will support her in taking a more strategic role, helping develop her leadership and global supply chain management skills.
